Why did you choose to attend UofL?
I chose UofL because the size of the campus is perfect. It's not so big that it's hard to make connections, but it isn't so small that it lacks opportunity. I felt at home the first time I visited the university.
Is there a particular class that’s had an impact on you?
CAMP 100 has had a tremendous impact on me. It's the business campus culture course and it introduced me to so many opportunities the university offers. I learned about study abroad, internships, networking, and involvement on campus my first semester.
What activities and organizations are you involved in?
I am involved in Freshmen LEAD, Student Organization for Alumni Relations, Student Marketing Association, and National Association of Black Accountants. I know that these organizations will lead me in directions that wouldn't be uncovered otherwise after graduation.
After graduation, I plan to…
After graduation, I plan to begin my business career in a city and pursue my MBA. I plan to move away for a few years after graduation and later return and find a home in Louisville.
How is UofL preparing you for life after college?
UofL is giving me the knowledge I need to become an expert in my field, the leadership roles to prepare me for future positions, and a diverse culture to introduce me to new perspectives of life.
If I had $1000 to donate to UofL, I’d give it to…
If I had $1000 to donate to UofL, I’d give it to the Woodford R. Porter Scholarship. I am a Porter Scholar and my education would not be possible without this award. It's a great scholarship that gives local underrepresented African American teenagers an opportunity to go beyond their financial limitations.
How have you benefitted from donations to UofL?
The Woodford R. Porter Scholarship and The Rechter Family Scholarship have given me a free college education.
